SEPTEMBER 2009 DISTRICT CONFERENCE, SHERATON WAIKIKI
For inspirational speakers, the latest Rotary International updates, fellowship and fun, register now for the September 25th-27th District Conference, at the Sheraton Waikiki.
A District Conference held early in the Rotary year offers the opportunity to share project ideas and partner with other clubs in Service Above Self. Among the conference highlights:

Youth involved in Rotary's simultaneous Youth Leadership

Engage the next generation of Rotarians in conversation and friendship and hear Rotary International President's Representative Ed Futa (General Secretary of Rotary) Conference will join Rotarians at the opening luncheon.
- Reception at the Sheraton Waikiki's Rumfire from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Conference registration opens at 2:00 p.m.

Following Futa Saturday afternoon will be Keynote Speaker Deepa Willingham, fresh from the International Convention and the International Assembly. This California Rotarian founded PACE Universal,  dedicated to nurturing the education, nutrition, health and social development of young girls in the slums of India and other areas around the world.

The youth will return to their Leadership conference, while we break for enlightening workshops: INTERNATIONAL SERVICE, with Deepa Willingham; INSIDE ROTARY, with RI General Secretary Futa; YOUTH SERVICE, featuring students offering their perspectives on service and how to communicate with the next generation; PEACE IN ACTION, featuring the District 5000 Peacemakers Committee; and ETHICS, facilitated by Maui Rotarians Larry and Joanne Laird.

A cocktail reception will precede the Saturday Dinner, featuring RI President's Representative Ed Futa.

Entertainment and dancing to follow. A great opportunity to enjoy fellowship and fun with your fellow Rotarians.

Sunday's Convention theme is Rotary's Future and the sessions punctuated by breakfast and lunch, will include representatives from the various Youth Services, Group Study Exchange and Youth Exchange presentations, more from General Secretary Ed Futa, a Peace Scholar and UN Scholar, and many of the beneficiaries of our clubs' local Service Above Self.

The Sunday session will conclude no later than 3 p.m.
