Work days on April 11 with Rotary Club of Kahala Sunrise (with Interactors) or April 25 with Rotary Club of Honolulu.  Hamakua Marsh Wildlife Sanctuary, 268 Hamakua Dr, Kailua. During the event, we would restore our native forest on Pu'u o 'Ehu (the hillside above Hāmākua Marsh), enjoy bird watching by the wetland, and learn about the site history and how our work improves the environment. Our restoration usually involves invasive plant removal and we can also do a group tree planting. This nonprofit has restored about 6 acres of the dryland forest at Hāmākua.
 
Volunteer at Hāmākua Marsh Wildlife Sanctuary for Rotarians at Work Day, Saturday, April 25 7, 9am-12pm (or April 11)
Parking: Available where we meet inside the chain link gate, directly next to 268 Hāmākua Drive in Kailua.
Activities: Restoration of the native dryland forest at Hāmākua Marsh (weeding, planting) and Bird Watching along the wetland.
Please bring: Water bottles, sun protection, and wear protective clothing (long sleeves or long pants with close-toed shoes)
We ask each individual to sign our waiver online before volunteering. All ages are welcome. Children 14 and under need to be accompanied by an adult. Children under 18 need a parent or guardian to sign the waiver for them.
