Benson Medina, from the Rotary Club of South Hilo, has been selected as our District Governor Nominee Designate. He will serve as District Governor July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027.

Benson, and his wife Zeda, are both members of the Rotary Club of South Hilo. Since joining Rotary in 2015, Benson has taken an active role in his club, serving as Club President in 2018-19 and 2019-20. Zeda is currently serving as Club President. His leadership roles have continued with District 5000. This is his 4th year serving as District Learning Facilitator where he has developed a robust training program for Rotarians, club and district leaders. He frequently talks about ways to “increase your Rotary IQ.”

Professionally, his work is in government infrastructure financing, where he works with county, state and national leaders. Building stronger communities for Hawaii to thrive and grow.

Benson takes a long-term view in all he does. He acknowledges that to grow Rotary we need to take a multi-year approach. He wants to bring meaning to peoples’ lives and make sure they have a positive Rotary experience. It is also important to him that Rotary in Hawaii connects and aligns with our native host culture.

Please congratulate Benson on his selection. He will continue to be an excellent Hawaii Rotary District 5000 volunteer leader.
