Successful Sister Club Launch Event with the Rotary Club of Port Colombo
Huge congratulations to Jeannette Corpus for hosting our first virtual Sister Club signing ceremony & event on Friday, November 17th. We had a great, special joint club meeting Friday evening where we got to know each other, shared club traditions and projects, and signed our Sister Club agreement. After the virtual meeting, we finished with pupus & wine/beer, followed by some impromptu karaoke! Much mahalos to David Tsuda for helping coordinate Friday’s event and to Halle Nguyen, owner for Kaka’ako Market & Catering, for hosting us in her beautiful space!
Upcoming Events
We have just a couple events to wrap up this year, and are already planned well into the new year!
- Wednesday, November 29th: Dictionary Project Wade Nakashima will be kicking off our Dictionary Project this year by stopping by Hau’ula Elementary to deliver Dictionaries to their 3rd grade classes at 9:20 and 10:05 AM. If anyone would like to join Wade, please email him at wadenakashima@yahoo.com
- Thursday, November 30th: Downtown Hui Holiday Party Please join us at the Downtown Arts Center for a FREE Holiday Party event where we hope to recruit many new members to Rotary! Please join us to represent our club, and also invite any family, friends, neighbors, co-workers who you think might be a good fit for Rotary. We’ll have pupus and wine to share. PLUS: all non-Rotarians will be automatically entered into a Wine Raffle! If you can, please bring a gift for Toys for Tots! RSVP here.
- Friday, December 15th: Holiday Karaoke Join us for our end of year pau hana and sing some sweet tunes with your fellow club members! RSVP here.
- Saturday, January 6th: Holiday Party & Taco Bar! This year’s annual holiday party will feature a taco bar! The taco bar is $25 a person, and we’re asking everyone to sign-up for one potluck item (pupus, dessert, or drinks). Thank you to Judy K for hosting us once again! Please RSVP here.
