2028-2029 District Governor
(District Governor Nominee)

Beverly Heikes
Rotary Club of Hilo

Beverly Heikes joined the Rotary Club of Hilo in April 2017 and proudly served as Club President in 2021–2022. Before her presidency, she held several leadership roles, including Chair of Rotary in Kindergarten (RIK), her club’s early childhood literacy program, RYLA Committee Member, and Youth Service Director. She currently serves as Assistant Governor for the East Hawaiʻi Island Clubs and Dean of the District 5000 Leadership Academy, where she continues to mentor and inspire future Rotary leaders.

Beyond Rotary, Beverly has served as president of six nonprofit service organization boards in her community, a reflection of her lifelong dedication to service. Her extensive leadership experience and deep community involvement naturally drew her to Rotary, where she saw an opportunity to expand her impact from local to global.

Professionally, Beverly’s career has spanned from serving as an executive assistant to CEOs, CFO’s and presidents to an independent business consultant and sales leader. As an avid reader, her greatest passion, however, has been her most recent work as a Program Coordinator for a nonprofit family literacy organization, promoting and supporting the joy of reading and lifelong learning in the local schools and families. She believes that when parents, families, and communities read with children early on, they help create lifelong readers and learners.

Beverly and her husband, Ken, live on Hawaiʻi Island. They have five adult children and two grandsons who reside on the mainland and the island of Cyprus. Now enjoying retirement, Beverly loves line dancing, being a gym rat, and running, Ken enjoys canoe paddling, and together they cherish time spent visiting family or welcoming loved ones to our beautiful island we call home.
