Nancy Cabral

The District 5000 Governor for 2025-2026 was Nancy Cabral. Nancy joined the Rotary Club of Hilo on January 29, 1988, as the first woman member. She served as the Club’s Centennial President in 2020-2021 to celebrate its 100th year anniversary and has served on numerous positions in the club . As owner of Day-Lum Rentals Management for 40 years, she built the company to be the largest property management firm in East Hawaii and also operated the Coldwell Banker Day-Lum Properties for 28 years in Hilo.

Nancy has been actively involved in many non-profit organizations. She has been instrumental in the production of the Pana’ewa Stampede Rodeo for the past 31 years which helps to preserve the Hawai’ian Paniolo Culture.  She was appointed by Governors Ige and Green to serve on the State Land Use Commission where she oversaw land zoning changes throughout the State of Hawai’i.

Nancy was recognized in May 2025 by the Hawaii Island YWCA at their “Remarkable People” event for her lifetime of community service and exceptionalism in local business and county government. In May 2025, she was awarded the title of Women-Owned Business of the Year -State of Hawaii by the U.S. Small Business Administration and in March 2025, Nancy was honored as one of Pacific Business News’ Women Who Mean Business. She was awarded the Athena Award for her success in helping women in the community and workplace and her company has been voted “Best in East Hawai’i” for many of the past twenty years.  

Nancy is a staunch supporter of The Rotary Foundation, as she believes in the mission and vision of Rotary. She is a Rotary Major Donor level 2, White Hat Society Member and PolioPlus Society Member.
