I would also like to update the Rotary International WASH project in Masindi, Uganda some of us have supported.  Janine LeGrand, from Kaneohe, Hawaii has been serving as a SAMS Medical Missionary for 18 years in Masindi, Uganda.  She is also a member of the Masindi Rotary club.  Her club along with another club in Uganda has an approved Global Grant to fund drilling a well, providing water harvesting tanks and piping at Masindi District Hospital in Masindi, Uganda.
 
At times the hospital has no running water and people have had to walk off the hospital grounds with jerrycans to get water. The hospital does have a connection to the city water system, but that water comes at a cost which the hospital has not been able to pay for a long time.  Trying to maintain good infection control and hygiene in a hospital without adequate water supply is really a very difficult challenge if it is even possible. So, getting water to the hospital is a basic need. The grant is almost $63,000.   The local clubs funded $1400 to obtain the grant.
